Norway, Denmark and a tiny bit of Finland - BEEuRope!

Took another trip to Europe with my baby and notched three more countries on the old "Visited" Belt.  That goes the same for having at least one beer in each of them too!

At the Amundsen Bryggeri (Brewery) in Oslo, Norway, I had their Oceans IPA (photo above) and their Pale Ale

On the train heading west from Oslo I had the Hoppy Joe Amber Red from Lervig Aktiebryggeri (Norway).  I followed that up with an OK pilsner from Ringes Bryggeri (Norway)

At the lovely AEgir Bryggeri in lovelier Flam, Norway, I had their Revival Whiskey Barrel Stout and their Summer Cherry Wheat (photo below)
The inside of the AEgir microbrewery in Flam is set up like a large Viking lodge.  Very cool.
I take great pride in earning this badge for two reasons involving my friend, Nate.  He's way ahead of me in UNTAPPD badges, but he doesn't have this one! (yet) and, secondly, he loves all things viking so I know he was jealous when he saw this pop up on my Facebook and Twitter feeds.  Sorry, Nate.  Start planning your trip soon, bud.
I had this German hefeweizen from Erdinger Weissbrau with dinner at a little restaurant called Ruccola in Bergen, our favorite city we visited in Norway
I had a couple more Norse beers with lunch in Bergen after a morning of Segwaying around the city.  Above is the Kjuagutt American red ale from 7 Fjell Bryggeri.  I followed that with a Kniksen Indian Red Ale also from 7 Fjell.

Next stop: Copenhagen, Denmark!  I have had some Hoegaarden beer before, but never this big and never in as cool a city as this.  This Belgium-based brewery is a world-wide distributor and this big ol' glass of Blanche Witbier went down good on a sunny day by the lake after riding paddle boats shaped like swans (hey, you had to be there).
While in Copenhagen we visited the world-renown Carlsberg Brewery and I have to say I was pretty impressed.  Not since visiting the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, Ireland, have I enjoyed visiting a "big" brewery so much.  It also helps that it's steeped in history, of course.

They have a great collection of historic delivery vehicles at Carlsberg.

So awesome!
Love the kegs hanging from the bottom of the wagon.
While there I had the Tuborg Classic, Carls Special, classic Carlsberg and the Brewmasters Collection IPA (obviously my favorite of the bunch).
For lunch while in Copenhagen at The Standard, I had a very good (and interesting)  Arctic Sunstone Pale Ale, a collaboration between Amager Bryghus (Denmark) and one of my favorite American microbreweries, Three Floyds Brewing Company in Indiana.

We weren't in Finland long, but I was able to grab a beer while we were there with my weird lunch at Gasthaus Haltinmaa of basically chopped wieners and crinkle-cut fries (photo below).  I had a Karjala IV, a fairly unimpressive pale lager from Hartwall Brewing here in Finland.

Man, you gotta like any town that has hops just growing along the streets on the walls of buildings that aren't even breweries and also have the Northern Lights!  Welcome to Tromso, Norway!
Look, it's cool enough that the Mack Bryggeri  established itself as the northernmost brewery when it began way back when, as well as one of the very few breweries above the Arctic Circle, but it also got a damn nice brewpub called Olhallen.  They have a tremendous selection.  with friendly and knowledgeable staff and roomy, yet cozy, place to have a brew or two (or eight)!  Ashlee and I went with samplers since we were on foot and could imbibe safely.  I had the Get It On (Version 8) IPA from Mack Brggeri,  the Tre Gamie Damer pale ale from Austmann Bryggeri, the Keller Ale Pale Ale (Mack), the Svarthumie black IPA from Kinn Bryggeri, the saison from Mack, the Vic Secret IPA from Nogne as well as their imperial stout, and finally the smoke stout from Mack.
Having fun inside the Olhallen Brewpub

Bringing Tennessee beer everywhere I can...

@decadeofduke that's one of the coolest tags yet!!! Arctic circle!!!

On our last day in Tromso I had a Mack Bayer lager at a little pub called Jennebanestasjon.  At the Tromso airport before flying back to Olso to eventually head home I had a bottle of Leffe Blonde from the Abbaye de Leffe in Belgium.  I was able to snag one last Mack Brewing product on the flight home on Norwegian when I had a Arctic Beer (pale lager).

Great trip, great beer.  Enough said.
